Conservative Group Endorses Christi Craddick for Re-election
Texans for Fiscal Responsibility announced their endorsement of strong conservative Christi Craddick, the Chairman of the Railroad Commission of Texas which regulates the state’s oil and gas industry.
“Texans for Fiscal Responsibility is pleased to endorse Christi Craddick for re-election to the Railroad Commission. Throughout her time on the commission, Craddick helped to increase the effectiveness of Texas’ most important industry by providing sensible guidance and regulation,” said TFR President Michael Quinn Sullivan. “Since taking office, Christi Craddick has served as an efficient and effective steward of the public’s trust and stood on the frontlines of the fight against federal overreach.”
“I am honored to have the support of Texans for Fiscal Responsibility and grassroots conservatives throughout the state of Texas,” said Craddick. “I have fought for conservative principles to make Texas government more efficient in order to provide a positive business climate that allows our energy industry to thrive and create jobs.
We cannot allow radical environmentalists or liberal Washington bureaucrats to determine Texas energy policy, because a healthy energy industry means more prosperity for Texas families and reduces America’s reliance on foreign oil. That’s why I will continue to implement policies that allow our energy companies to safely and responsibly drill for oil and gas.”
A pro-life conservative, Craddick is a native of Midland, Texas. She earned a Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas at Austin. During her career as an attorney, Craddick specialized in oil and gas, water, tax issues, electric deregulation and environmental policy. She was elected to the Railroad Commission in 2012.
Craddick serves her community as an active member of organizations including the State Bar of Texas, University of Texas Liberal Arts Alumni Advisory Council, University of Texas System Chancellor’s Council, and Dell Children’s Medical Center Foundation. Christi resides in Austin with her daughter, Catherine and is an active member of St. Austin’s Catholic Church.
